Some help towards purchasing the right fireplace for your home.
If you are considering purchasing a new fireplace checking the following details will help ensure you get the right product to suit your home. Although this list does not cover everything it covers the basics.

For gas fires Does your home have a chimney breast? If not is there a gas fire currently fitted? Is there a back boiler attached to your fire?

For electric fires Does your home have a chimney breast? If not is there a hole in the wall where there has been or is any type of fire? Or do you need a fire that does not require a hole in the wall?

For all fireplaces
Check the width of your chimney breast
If a flat wall, what is the maximum width available (allowing for furniture & tvs etc).
If you currently have a carpet, or laminated flooring, that you are not replacing, measure the approximate size of the hole in the carpet (if there is one) where your hearth is.
